Kirsti Nordberg Moe runs a small hat-atelier at Sunnhordland Museum at Stord, in
the western part of Norway. She aims for a market where the quality of materials, craft and shape are the most important elements. The underlying possibilities of the craft to actually be able to work both creatively and visually, - to try out new techniques and to experiment with materials, shapes and colors with the best quality of the craft, is quite important. Kirsti has high requirements to the artistic performance and the wear ability of the garments. She tries to liberate herself from the clichés of the craft. Headdress for private customers and for exhibition collections have been her field of work so far. The experimental objects attract most attention and give her the greatest challenge. Kirsti's hats are totally handmade. You may order your hat in the material, color and size you want,- or you may choose among her numerous hats shown in the atelier.
